Problem:
The customer used a grain truck for
hauling salt daily. The salt would form sodium hydroxide which would
corrode the interior of the aluminum trailer, especially where it caked
up on the rivets. The salt would not release easily, especially in the
hopper area.

Solution:
CeRam-Kote 54®’s high surface
lubricity provides a slick surface release characteristic that prevents
the buildup of hygroscopic dry cargoes that “clump up” in the presence
of moisture.
CeRam-Kote 54® was applied to the interior of the aluminum hopper
trailer. After more than one year of service, the owner reported that
the salt has not damaged the CeRam-Kote 54® or caused corrosion of any
of the aluminum substrate it is protecting. He said the salt still cakes
up on the rivets, but it is easily washed off with water. He has been
very satisfied with the performance of CeRam-Kote 54®. |
