Customer:

Weatherford Canada Partnership

Applicator:

Universal Coating Inc.

Problem:

The customer was using a rubber matting to ensure a safe, anti-skid surface in the bed of the wireline trucks. Due to the corrosive properties of the invert mud, rubber matting was not lasting and cleanup became labor-intensive. The invert mud deteriorated the rubber matting, making it difficult to remove. Matting was previously replaced once or twice a year, depending on each vehicle’s working environment.

Solution:

CeRam-Kote 54® was applied on the floor surface and an anti-skid media was added to the un-cured coating. When cured, the coating was both corrosion and abrasion resistant. The customer also found the anti-skid coating easier to clean.

The first truck was coated approximately three years ago. The anti-skid is wearing on the upper ridges of the deck, but the coating is still intact. The customer has expressed total satisfaction with this solution, has added this solution to an additional five trucks and is planning to recoat the first truck with the CeRam-Kote anti-skid system.
