Problem: The owner of the Sea Express was dissatisfied with the performance of previous coatings. The owner was interested in a coating material which would reduce friction, provide greater speed and reduce docking costs over time. CeRam-Kote 54® was chosen for its abrasion resistance and teflon-like lubricity, not for use as an antifouling. |

Result: One year after the hull was coated with CeRam-Kote 54®, the boat was docked and the hull inspected. There was no damage to the coating. The following year, the owner coated the remaining portion of the boat with CeRam-Kote 54® and reported that it was much easier to clean. A year later, the ship owner inspected the boat in dry dock. After three years of service, there was no damage to the coating. The owner stated that he believes CeRam-Kote 54® to be a coating for the future of his high speed crafts. |
