Problem:

Production riser guide tubes on the Njord Oil Platform in the North Sea are exposed to severe corrosion attacks from sea water. The riser guide tubes are subjected to severe internal abrasion when the tubing is pulled up through the riser.

 

Solution:

CeRam-Kote 54® was applied I.D. to the 128 foot (39 meter) carbon steel guide tubes and the internal surface of the bellmouth. An antifouling was then applied over CeRam-Kote 54® on the bellmouth.

Because of CeRam-Kote 54®'s high abrasion resistance and corrosion prevention properties, it is possible to pull up the tubing without damaging the substrate of the riser guide tube.
