Problem:
Kalahari needed to refinish 2 waterslides
that had worn gelcoat surfaces. The resort is open 365 days a year, so
repair and recoating time was short.
Employees were to be used to do the work |
 |
|
 |
Solution:
Prep work was done at night for 3 weeks prior to the
4 day shut-down
Slides were cleaned and wiped down after additional sanding was
performed
Mixing stations were set up at the base of the slides, coating mixed and
taken up slides to paint crews who started at the top of the slides and
worked down
Slides were rolled, not sprayed due to overspray issues |
|
Result:
Paint crews were able to
complete coating within timetable given to allow cure time prior to
reopening of the water park |
